Decent, but delivery took a while

I ordered the Chef John Special Roll and some Edamame for delivery last night. The roll itself was tasty, pretty creative and fresh. The edamame was standard, nothing wrong with it. My main gripe was the delivery time; it said 45-60 minutes, but it took closer to 80 minutes to reach my place in Whittier. The food was still warm enough, but that wait was a bit long. Customer service was fine when I called to check, but no real apology for the delay. Overall, the food is good, but they could definitely improve on their delivery estimates.

Good value on my first order

I was looking for some good sushi that wouldn't break the bank and decided to try Esushi since they had a first-order discount. I got the Spicy Tuna Roll and some Gyoza. The discount made a noticeable difference, saving me about 15% on my total which was nice. Everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. For the price I paid, it felt like a really good deal. Definitely worth trying if you're on a budget and want decent sushi.

Consistently good quality

I've been ordering from Esushi for a while now, mostly for pickup. This last time I got a Rainbow Roll and some Baked Mussels. Just like my previous orders, the quality was consistent. The fish always tastes fresh, and the rolls are put together well. I keep coming back because I know what to expect, and they rarely disappoint. Never had an issue with an order, which is why they're my go-to for sushi in the area. It's reliable.

What's the best way to get a discount? Like, do they have a first-time customer deal or something?

L Laura Moore 3 weeks ago
They usually have a first-order discount! I got like 15% off my first online order. Just keep an eye on their site or local flyers.

Also check for happy hour, that's usually a good deal on specific items. And if it's your birthday, they do a birthday reward too. Lots of ways to save a few bucks.

Thinking of ordering a bunch of rolls for a party this weekend. Do they do any deals for big orders or group dining?

B Brian 3 weeks ago
Yeah, I think I saw something about group dining offers in their FAQs. Might be worth asking when you call.

They totally do! I got a discount last month when I ordered like 10 rolls for my friend's birthday. Just mention it when you're ordering, it's usually around 10-20% off depending on how much you spend.

Anyone know if they actually deliver or is it just pickup? I'm in Santa Fe Springs, wondering if I can get it sent over.

O Olivia F. 5 days ago
They do delivery, but I'm not sure how far out they go. You'd probably have to check their website or give them a call to see if Santa Fe Springs is in their zone.

I've had it delivered to La Mirada before, so Santa Fe Springs might be possible. They use a third-party service I think, so the range might vary. Best to just ask them directly.

Are their sushi rolls actual authentic Japanese or more like Americanized versions? Seeing some of the names makes me wonder.

S Sofia 3 days ago
It's a mix, honestly. They have the classic sashimi and nigiri which is super authentic, but then they also have a ton of creative specialty rolls that are more fusion-style. Still really good though!

They're pretty authentic. The chef's from Japan, and they do real sashimi, not just California rolls. But yeah, some of the specialty stuff is definitely more modern. You can get both, which is cool.
